Welcome to BODUM
®
Congratulations! You are now the proud owner of a BODUM
®
CHOCOLATIÈRE chocolate jug.
PREPARING DRINKING CHOCOLATE
1. Heat a quantity of milk in a pan. Do not bring it to the boil.
USING A MICROWAVE OVEN: Place the pieces of chocolate in the jug
and top it up with cold milk no further than the MAX mark. Place the
jug in the microwave without the lid and heat – skip to step 4.
CAUTION: the lid and plunger unit are not microwave-proof!
2. Take your favorite chocolate (BODUM
®
recommends dark, bitter plain
chocolate) and break it into small pieces before adding to the milk.
We recommend 100 g/3.5 oz chocolate per 1 litre/34 oz milk, though
you can vary this according to taste. Alternately, if you are using
powdered drinking chocolate add it to the milk at this point.
TIP: the smaller the pieces of chocolate, the quicker they blend with
the milk. You can even grate the chocolate.
3. Place the pieces of chocolate in the jug (C) and top it up with hot milk
no further than the MAX mark (D).
4. Place the lid (B) on the jug. Turn the lid until the spout is closed (b).
5. Hold the jug handle in one hand and the knob (A) in the other. Raise
and lower the knob with steady movements of the arm (a). This causes
the propeller (E) to turn, which blends the chocolate with the milk.
As soon as the chocolate is well blended with the milk, turn the lid
until the spout is open. Now enjoy!
WARNING: do not heat the milk by placing the jug on the stove or burner!
TIP: your CHOCOLATIÈRE can be used to prepare other drinks too, such
as instant coffee and instant tea as well as many powder-based drinks
such as energy drinks, ice tea drinks or frappés.
CLEANING
Every part of your CHOCOLATIÈRE is dishwasher-proof.
