INSTRUCTION FOR USE
5
BEFORE USING THE KETTLE
Clean the kettle before using it for the first time by filling it
completely (to the MAX mark) with water, boiling the
water, and then discarding the water.
HOW TO USE THE KETTLE
FILLING THE KETTLE
Remove the kettle from its base (6).
Open the lid (1), fill the kettle with water to the desired
level then close the lid.
The kettle must contain a minimum of 0.5 l and a maximum
of 1.5 l (no higher than the MAX mark). This prevents it
from switching off before the water has boiled or reached
the required temperature.
CONNECTING TO THE ELECTRICAL SUPPLY
After filling the kettle, place it on its base (6). Check the
kettle is properly seated on the base.
Connect the kettle to the electrical supply; an acoustic signal
indicates that it is ready.
Now select the required water temperature by turning the
temperature selection knob (8) and press the on/off button
(7). This will flash until the water either reaches the required
temperature or boils, at which point it will extinguish.
An acoustic signal indicates when the water has reached
the selected temperature. The water can now be used.
Note: to change the required temperature of the water while
it is heating, simply turn the temperature selection knob (8)
and press the ON/OFF (7) button again.
Note: different teas require different brewing temperatures.
Brewing a delicate variety at too high a temperature can make
it taste bitter. The BODUM
®
water kettle with adjustable
temperature settings is ideally suited to preparing any type
of tea. There are five temperature settings to choose from.
(60°C; 70°C; 80°C; 90°C and boil)
«KEEP WARM» FUNCTION
To keep the water at the required temperature for 30
minutes, press the «keep warm» button (9).
The «keep warm» button will remain illuminated until the
kettle is removed from its base (6), the button is pressed
again, or 30 minutes have expired.
