Note: the «keep warm» button (9) can be pressed before
switching the kettle on, while the water is heating or after
the water has reached the required temperature.
SWITCHING OFF
– The kettle switches off automatically when the water
comes to the boil or reaches the required temperature.
The kettle can be switched off at any time by pressing the
on/off button (7). The kettle switches off automatically
when it is removed from its base.
POURING THE WATER
Holding the kettle by its handle, lift it from its base (6). Check
the kettle remains upright while lifting it from its base (6).
Pour the water from the spout keeping the lid (1) closed.
Note: take care not to scald yourself while pouring the water.
SWITCHING THE KETTLE BACK ON
– If the kettle has been switched off manually, it can be
switched back on at any time.
Note: take great care when operating the controls, in
particular the temperature selection knob (8). The hot
stainless steel surface of the kettle can cause burns if
touched! The same applies to all the other parts made
of stainless steel, such as the handle mounts.
MAINTENANCE AND CARE
SCALE FILTER
Scale, or calcium, is a natural substance that forms when
hard water is boiled. The filter serves to retain the calcium
in the water kettle.
CLEANING AND REMOVAL OF THE FILTER
It is important to clean the filter regularly. The filter clips
into the body and can be removed by pulling it upwards
from the body. It can be cleaned by gentle brushing with a
soft brush under running water.
KETTLE CLEAN AND DECALE
Always remove the plug from the power outlet before
cleaning. For regular removal of scale from the kettle we
recommend using BODUM
®
cleaner and descaler (art.no. 05-
3000CD2). Please follow the instructions:
Add 25g of powder for each 1 l (34 oz) of hot water. Stir to
dissolve. Hold solution in vessel for up to 30 minutes. Rinse
all parts thoroughly.
Failure to de-scale may invalidate the guarantee.
– Never use chemicals, steel wool or abrasive agents to
clean the exterior of the kettle.
Only clean the appliance using a damp cloth.
Never immerse the item in water: remember this is an
electrical applicant.
